As long as you already know that the cord with prongs on it plugs into a wall outlet, you know not to use it in the bathtub or pouring rain, and can figure out that it's "on" when the light is "on" and "off" when it's "off," and that you have to turn the knob. Messages I own the Epiphone Valve JR half stack without any mods.
I really enjoy it and I think it sounds great when I get to turn it up. But the other day I brought just the head to practice. I plugged it into a behringer 4x12 cab. I know the behringer cab ain't great or anyting but i've heard wose, but anyways, the Epi valve JR sounded like total crap plugged into the 4x Extremely buzzy, no warmth.
I wonder why that is? I matched up the 4 ohms from my cab to the vavle JR. Messages 3, Mine pushes a 2x12 and a 4x10 pretty well I have noticed a huge difference changing speakers though Messages 8, I have a Jr 1x8 combo. I have yet to hook it up to any type of extension speaker.

I've run my Valve Jr. Sounds great through either but I prefer the 1x Messages 13, I put mine through a Bruno 2x12 with Blues this weekend And that is from a resident cork sniffer like me!
My drummer bought me it as a joke last week but he will be loving it when I mod it up in an even more killer little head!! Totally Bored Member. Messages 9, My Epi Jr Head run through my Marshall 4 x12 sounds absolutley killer. Sounds great with 1 x12 cab but Have you tried the JP1 Mod yet?
Cleaned that head up nice and sounds a bit Fender like now. That Head was always a bit to dirty for my taste's. I tried a new Transformer and lots of cap and resistor tweeks but that Mod was probably the best and cost nothing. Totally reversable mod btw.
