Asus network printer setup program windows 8

Thank you very much for your very helpful response - I'm at work at present but will follow your kind suggestions and let you know how I get on. Just to answer your quesions, it's a 64bit, there was an error dialogue can't remember what it said now!

You are most welcome and thank you so much for all the additional information that you have included in your reply. If you are planning to install any third party security program, then I would also like to inform you that, it would be better to keep just one security program for the best performance and to avoid unnecessary conflicts on the computer.

The link you provided worked a treat! Initially I ran the programme 'as a previously installed printer' and when it got to the stage of scanning for wirless devices it said there were no devices detected on the network printer was 3 feet away and so I re-checked the printer was connected etc.

I re-ran the link again as 'a new printer install' and it went through the set up. It then came to a grinding halt half way saying that programme has stopped working and to ' Install GUI'?. After running the fix problem programme it seemed to run all the way through and intsalled two shortcuts on the desktop - one for Lexmark website the other 'Launch Lexmark Printer'.

I then clicked the latter, and it said 'no compatible printers installed'! Anyway, I then used the USB cable and it seemed to detetct that and could print a word doc page I guess the lexmark drivers you kindly provided helped it to print whereas before it didn't using the USB. I decided the USB cable would do for now, but out of curiosity opened task manager and selected add a printer.

It then went through the scan of wireless printers picked up the printer and added it to my available printers! So in summary, we got there in the end, although I might have not followed your instructions to the 't'!

The ironic thing is the printer has now run out of coloured ink so my daughter is waiting on me to purchase a new batch! We are glad to know that you were able to install the latest Windows 8 drivers for your Lexmark Pinnacle Series printer and got the printer working on the computer.

A troubleshooter is an automated tool that can find and automatically fix some problems with your PC. The printing troubleshooter can fix problems with installing and connecting to a printer.

Most printers require driver software to work properly. If you recently upgraded from one version of Windows to another, it's possible that the current printer driver is for the previous version of Windows.

If you've had recent power outages, viruses, or other computer problems, it's possible that the drivers have become damaged. Downloading and installing the latest driver for your printer can resolve these types of problems. Install software from the printer manufacturer. If your printer came with a disc, that disc might contain software that installs a driver for the printer. Download and install the driver yourself. You can search for a driver on the manufacturer's website.

Try this if Windows Update can't find a driver for your printer, and the printer didn't come with software that installs a driver.
